Privacy policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
This policy explains what we collect when you ask a question, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Your question.
- Your first name if you give it, and your birth date, birth time (if you know it) and birth place.
- How you found Plainsay, if you tell us.
- Your IP address, browser details and the ad link you came from, if any.
- Payment status and a payment reference from our payment partner, which collects your email and phone number to process the payment. We keep only a one way hash of your phone number, which lets us count repeat purchases without storing the number. We never receive your card, bank or UPI details.
Why we collect it
Only to prepare your reading, show it to you, handle refunds, and reply to you if you write to us. We count questions and repeat questions in aggregate to understand whether the service works. We do not sell your data, and we do not send you marketing unless you ask for it.
Who handles it for us
We use service providers to host this site, store your order, process your payment and prepare your reading. They handle your data only on our instructions and only for those purposes. The providers that help prepare your reading receive your chart and your question, never your name or contact details, and are not permitted to use them for anything else. Some of these providers process data outside India.
Cookies and measurement
We use Google Analytics and Meta to measure visits and how our ads perform. They set cookies and receive basic details about your visit and purchase, including your email and phone number in hashed, unreadable form. They never receive your question, birth details or name. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
When you place an order for yourself, your name and birth details are also saved in your own browser, so a second question does not need them typed again. That copy stays on your device. "Forget these" on the form removes it.
How long we keep it
We delete your order, including your question and birth details, 90 days after your answer, or sooner if you ask. Unpaid orders are deleted after a day. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, at any time. Write to hello@plainsay.pro and we will act within 7 days.
